Fall appeared out of nowhere, it seemed. We returned from our Maui trip to a wall of Pacific Northwest rain.

But then we remembered all the cool stuff about fall and winter. Halloween was fast approaching, and we raced to put together costumes.

This year, we decided to try taking Elliot and Lia to a real grown-up Halloween party. One of my friends was hosting one at his house in Seattle. So, after a really nice afternoon at Brian and Jen's we crossed the bridge to the west side.

There were some pretty scary costumes, including several convincing "Fast-Food Zombies". Elliot really liked the whole thing and didn't seem freaked out by so many (freaky) people.

Elliot got to stay up until 1 am, breaking all previous records by a couple of hours. Needless to say he was pretty happy with himself.

For the Thanksgiving break, we headed back up to BC, for some fun times with the grandparents. I helped Ross install his 7.1 speaker system and run wiring through the walls.

Nicole made an awesome pecan pie, and we got to spend a lot of time with the kids, just hanging out.

Elliot perfects his "can I please" face. And yes, he always can when he makes that face.

A couple of fast-food zombies... Pat Jandro is the Hamburglar, and Chad Foxglove is the Colonel.

"Look, my hands are even dirtier than this rock!"

Elliot drives his cop car down the slide.

"Ok dad, it's not funny any more. Can you please un-stick me from this thing?"
