Ross, Chris, Jacqueline, Nicole, Elliot, and myself all took a trip to the Woodland Park Zoo in downtown Seattle.

Normally I find zoos to be a little depressing, with all the animals crammed into viewing areas that always seem too small. Kids banging on the glass of the terrarium yelling for the bored iguana to "do something". I could go on and on, but you probably all know the feeling when you're at a zoo.

This place seemed a bit different though. The animals had quite a bit of terrain to wander, and many weren't even visible because they were out wandering.

The zoo is actually 130 years old.

Here's some info about their conservation work...

After months of pushups, leg-thrusts, and face plants, Elliot finally earns his crawling wings! This is one of his very first times crawling.

The hippos like to open their mouths and let the water fountain splash the insides.

The giraffes had quite a bit of room to run around and graze.

Here's a macaque on his way to some trouble-making most likely.

Elliot checks out the orangutans.

This bengal tiger was sizing Elliot up for an afternoon snack. Little did he know Elliot's nails are sharper than his...

Here's the male silverback gorilla chomping some ferns.

They had at least two lions that we could see roaming about

When he saw Elliot staring threateningly at him, the male lion defended his territory with a menacing low roar.

Here's one of the orangutans watching us, clearly waiting for a chance to throw an err... "object" at us.
